Book missing pages and duplicating others.

My daughter's guitar instructor uses these theory books and they seem to work well. However, we ordered the level 2 book from Amazon a while back. Now that they've worked their way to page 17, we have discovered the book we received is completely defective. It jumps from page 17 to 24. Then pages 24 to 30 are in the book twice. Then it jumps to page 42 ... and this repeats again. Unfortunately, because we didn't look ahead in the book, we didn't discover it until the return window with Amazon has closed. I'll be going elsewhere to find a new one. If you do order this, be sure to browse the pages when you get it!

An instrument guide that isn't tedious

There are some easy, classic tunes in this book that made learning more fun than the average musical instrument method book. It does go more in-depth with chords than the first book that spends the first half on notes. It gives handy tips on common problems.
Unfortunately, it doesn't do as good a job in teaching fundamentals like rhythm and keeping time and it is no substitute for a good, engaged teacher. Overall, it is a good learning tool for those that are self-teaching, but it works best for those with some prior musical knowledge.
